GIVING IN TO EVIL: Surrender Series Part 7

The essence of God is love. Jesus gave it a name; he called it forgiveness. It is a power infused into humans to give in to what is true and what is real. The truth is that everything, including evil, that happens to us is for us, for our growth and evolution into a higher state of consciousness. Jesus came into the world not to remove evil, but to take away its power to destroy us. God allows evil because when it is seen for what it is, it becomes a powerful catalyst for change. When one sees the pain and suffering evil causes, when one sees how destructive it is, our hearts are moved to action. Evil's greatest strength is that it exists just below the surface; it goes unnoticed and acceptable without revealing its power to infect us with the disease of division and separation. Forgiveness creates oneness and wholeness and is key to surrendering to a plan that we may never fully understand.

LIFE FORCE: Surrender Series Part 6

It is clear when one listens to the words that Jesus spoke to his disciples after his resurrection, that he intended them to continue his saving work. In order to do this they would need to receive something from him. Scripture describes this gift as his breath, the outpouring of his Spirit into their hearts. This gift enabled them to be the source of enlightenment and healing to those they would serve. We are called to continue their ministry. We possess this life force and we are partners with him. We are his disciples today.

THE HEART: Surrender Series Part 5

In part 5, Msgr. Don offers an image of the heart as the place where God dwells; that by embracing this dimension of our humanity we increase our capacity to resonate love and to be present to one another. When we connect to our hearts, we naturally surrender to what is real and true. Love not judgement is at the center of our being.
