Gospel
Luke 11:27-28

While Jesus was speaking,
a woman from the crowd called out and said to him,
"Blessed is the womb that carried you
and the breasts at which you nursed."
He replied, "Rather, blessed are those
who hear the word of God and observe it."

Reflection

The woman cries out the truth that Jesus was born of a woman in this world. But when Jesus thinks about the greatness of His being here present, that's one thing, but another is why He's here. He longs for people to listen to Him and to do what He says is important to do. That's the greatest blessing.

Closing Prayer

Father, as we think of you being one who is divine, entering into the world, it is overwhelming to imagine this gift. But you remind us that the real gift is what you teach us. What you show us, how you invite us to live. And we ask this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
